Apparently it's because lots of gay people use them recreationally and every man in this "active, healthy population" can't be impotent, in perception or otherwise.

Doubt it, it's probably because of all the cocaine use. Pop one of these with some lines and the sex feels incredible, I'd guess a huge reason why most people do it. ( Someone who isn't me may have done this a handful of times )
