I haven't camped at lac le jeune but i believe there are wood ticks in that area during certain months. You may want to look into that.
I've camped at a forest rec site just outside of Merritt before, and i've checked out some of the other forest rec places in the area. I can't comment on the provincial camp grounds since i haven't been to them in the area. |
Lac le jeune is pretty nice I know the area well although I haven't been to that lake specifically in some time, there's also tunkwa on the other side of Logan lake which is alrite as well

Are they dangerous to humans? does the forest rec site have a beach or lake or any sort of watering hole? |
Definately read up on ticks, preventative measures and how to remove them.

Im not the camping type, but that area is awesome this time of year. If youve never been there, you prolly want to check it out.

OK, clearly I FAIL at city names. I didnt know RS had a spelling police. |
Might I suggest you forget Lac Le Jeune, which will often be fairly busy this time of year, and instead head towards Penticton and check out Naramata Lake.

The okanagan has more provincial sites and other sites that are easier to access than the Merritt/Kamloops area. Just remember that going over the Coq connector adds some distance/time/gas to the trip. |
