Broken pin on motherboard
 

The CMOS battery holder on my motherboard is supposed to sit perpendicular to the motherboard. Unfortunately, I've bent it and it appears that a pin underneath is broken. I suspect I can tape it back in the right position, ensuring that both parts of the pin touch.

Will this work? Or do I have to do some soldering?

ive had a few capacitors broke on me at the contact point to the breadboard. i used tape to hold it in place. it worked. the better way would be to solder.

just solder it to ensure proper contact.
