A stunning new take on the much lauded Audi R8 opens to the public quite literally at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show (September 17-27). The new R8 Spyder with fully automatic lightweight fabric hood brings added wind-in-hair intensity to the already extreme driving experience delivered by the lightweight aluminium, mid-engine and quattro-equipped super car. Based on the 525PS, 5.2-litre FSI model, but featuring a bespoke body incorporating additional weight-saving carbon fibre composite panels. :thumbsup:

The coupe is 1000x better looking.

I like it!

The rear reminds me of the LP560.

The issue I have with the R8 is it reminds me of a larger version of the Audi TT which really kills the appeal of the R8 for me.

the look is like the 350z roadsters.

they're only hot when their tops are down, not so much when the top is on.

nice..but doesn't seem to be worth its $130k+ price tag
i dont like those rims either

the coupe was good enough for ironman, good enough for me.
