Posting for a friend, she's looking for her first car, has $5k to spend but less is better, nothing over $5k

must be automatic
4+ seats
Japanese (no VWs or americans)
in good shape mechanicly
Good tires are a plus
high mileage and poor cosmetics are okay and expected at this price level.
