Boy, 14, charged after throwing knife at mom to stop her driving drunk
 

WINNIPEG - A 14-year-old Winnipeg boy has been charged with aggravated assault after police allege he threw a kitchen knife at his mother in a bid to stop her from driving drunk.

Police say they were called to a home about 6 a.m. Saturday to a report that a woman there had been stabbed.

Const. Blair Good, a police spokesman, says the two had become involved in an argument.

He says the boy threw the knife at his mother when she walked away with a jacket that may have had car keys in it.

The knife struck the woman in the upper body.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

"She had been drinking and she wanted to drive and he didn't want to let her," Good told reporters on Sunday.

The boy fled after the incident but was arrested when he came back home.

"It started out he tried to protect her but in the end injured her," said Good.

maybe this is just the moms side of the story because she's trying to protect him from getting jailtime

so he back stabbed his mother?

heres what i think happened kid was aruging with mom. mom gets crazy and pulls a knife out of the draw. kid fights knife out of moms hands and accidentally stabbed his mother
