Horizons restaurant burned down this morning
 

I was leaving for work this morning and saw a huge stack of smoke coming from the top of Burnaby mountain... I put it on the news and saw that Horizon's was on fire... Woke up my girlfriend and let her know that she was now out of a job... I wonder what happened, she said everything was fine there last night... We tried going up there to take a look at the damage, but they had closed off the access to Burnaby mountain...

That sucks. Had some good memories up there at the restaurant. :(

Feel bad for people that might have wedding receptions booked there in the near future.

Bummer! My family went there for various occasions, and we'd always take advantage of the monthly special of the time.

Wow...that's where I took my wife (then gf) for our first date!

They'll be closed for about 3 months while they reno the place.

Sucks because these next 3 months is prime wedding time.

Oh well last time i was there got some racist service.

I never went to the restaurant but I do have some good memories close to the restaurant... lol

it did not all burn down just the back end where the kitchen was. i am sure they will fix it up even nicer this time

yea, my friend had wedding there I attended.

I was actually planning to head there in a couple weeks for the first time. A shame. Did this place serve memorable food?

Not sure... but all it serves now is memories of food:(

Yeah, the food was really nice there. Damn, I had my first job there working consessions in the summer. Awesomely chill management; loved the place! Can't wait to get back once it's all fixed up.

Crummy deal. My coworker has his anniversary dinner in 2 weeks. :p

dang. went there couple times. my friend works there and she just got laid off. sucks.
