anyone have a compaq presario R3000 (or broken one)
 

anyone have one that i can borrow the dvd drive from to reinstall the OS? my dvd fried after spilling soda on it, and now i need to reinstall the OS. This dino doesnt support USB boot so im SOL with usb stick boots or external hardrives, and i cant get network boot to work either. Thanks!

You could also take out the R300's hard drive and hook it up to a desktop computer. Install the OS and put your hard drive back. You will need to reactivate windows once its back in the laptop since the motherboard changed.
