Deep Sea base jump
It's incredible what a human can do in one breath, let along what this guy did on the way back!!

Thats just amazing...all in one breath.
|
The video lies, if you watch it. His weight belt appears, disappears, reappears, disappears several times on the ascent. This was quite clearly an edited video. Still cool though.

just the thought of all the water pressure that deep is making my ears bleed.

i forgot to equalize my ears the first time i dove even though the instructor taught me (in a different language i couldnt understand haha) so i had to bail after 10 meters cuz it was so painful.

I could see that being done. As he didn't move at all on the way down, conserving all his breath. Seems he had a "free fall" of maybe 1 minute? Last time I held my breath as long as I could it was 4.5mins. Seems doable, but there's so many cuts in the video. If it was all in one go then I would for sure say it's real, but it's just edited so much I don't know.

You gotta remember that there's a whole "sport" based around this and in all honesty it didn't look "that" deep. I don't have the time to youtube any video's right now, i'll try and remember later. But I remember seeing some nutty stuff, the people basically strap themselves to a super heavy sled attached to a cable, plunge down then let go and some air filled bags to float themselves up. |
When he first starts the ascent, he has no belt. Next shot he has a belt, shot after that, no belt, at the top belt.
|
im sure they took about 10 takes on the film itself. only one camera, so a bunch of takes.
There are very few people who can withstand more than 3 minutes without air. |

Those pearl divers in Polynesia/Micronesia are insane though. They dive to incredible depths and are down there for upwards of 4-5 minutes. |
even 60 seconds is a tough task for me. lol
He should have put a flag down on the bottom. |
i was talking about moving as well. this guy was holding his breath, while moving and under water pressure.
