New TV and external speaker problem(help)
/////u
|
i'm having a similar problem albeit with a set of wireless headphones for my ps3 with my new tv as well; i'll let you know if I find anything out

I don't wanna sound like a dick but did you double check if you plugged the RCA cables in the right jack? Happened to me when I was setting up my uncles sound system, felt so stupid haha
|
Looking on toshibas website it only lists it as having digital audio out, i am assuming you are using analog cables since you mentioned RCA's.

Dont know what speakers you have, but if they only offer an analog input then yeah they won't work.

Yeah make sure you check out what output other TV has.

You need digital (toslink) to analog (composite).

Mono price is what you need.
Here is the same thing from amazon >http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Optical-Toslink-Analog-Converter/dp/B004C4WPXA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=industrial&qid=1294538514&sr=1-3-catcorr But for over twice as much. |
and here is one from deal extreme....
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.44345 Monoprice is still cheaper and looks to be identical to both. |

Should work because the tv should output the audio. If you wanted them hooked up separately you could use something like
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...t=1#largeimage Just incase you wanted to listen to a device with the tv turned off. |
