crap crap crap... i already spent too much time on this game. It looks like one of the tricks is to make sure you keep a finger on the key to hang onto one ring, while you click the mouse and press the letter of the ring you're trying to reach. I keep letting go.

This is bullshit. I got stuck at some fkn place for about 5 minutes cause my fcked up climber couldn't reach anything.
Then I didn't even realize water was climbing up to drown me. WTF?!
