i dotn think anyone would want to wear pants with a bunch of wires through your crotch

Depends on the comfort level, but I can only see this as a novelty item if anything.
No drummer in a real band would think it's cool to make drum sounds without using real drums.
Or you might as well use a synthesizer with drum beats for your band.
