Boat shoes
anyone know where to get a good pair of boat shoes or whatever people call it these days.
Sperry top sider, i'm interested in getting a pair of these. https://s3.amazonaws.com/assets.svpp...jpg?1329227654 |
I was thinking about picking up a Sperry top sider as well, but I had heard they are not very comfortable to wear.
Haven't looked into alternatives since then. |

if you don't mind going online this might fit what you're looking for; Harrys of London has a new line of shoes they call Henleys its a boat shoe but wears like a driving shoe
a comfort minded boat shoe basically http://www.harrysoflondon.com/assets...udsdemid_1.jpg http://www.harrysoflondon.com/shopon...ey/cPath/9_101 they've got various colours btw |
That, to me, just looks like a driving loafer with extra holes and leather laces :/ . If you want a loafer, get a loafer. If you want a boat shoe, get a boat shoe. I think either a proper boat shoe or driving loafer looks better than that frankenshoe.
Try the Sperry's on. They aren't any more uncomfortable than say a regular plim or chukka. |
what really defines a boat shoe though is its function (repels water / doesn't streak the deck / etc)
you can even get chukka boat shoes ;) |

Softmoc has lots of styles, free shipping to the store! I bought a pair a few weeks back..
