MTM:
Thick as Thieves Black Lapel Modern Tailor Suit Supply |
U can get hugo boss suits at Harry Rosen for around $800-900
Hugo by Hugo Boss is the slim line U can get Huo by Hugo Boss suits at the seattle premium outlet for around $550 I also saw Canali at Nordstorm Rack DT Seattle for $999 And Armani Collizoni for $899 at the rack But obviously YMMV when it comes to outlets/rack Posted via RS Mobile |
If the bachelor party is in Asia, I highly suggest Vietnam or Thailand and get a custom made suit. Otherwise any of the said locations are great

^beat me to it. A bit off topic but does anyone have experience with indochino's pea coats?
|
I know this may not be a possibility for OP. but Japan. No joke.
A slim-cut suit thats perfectly hemmed to your body shape for under $300 at more than a few large chain retailers. Quality as well. |

believe me, they have some amazingly cheap peacoats. |

Make sure you get it tailored, a non-tailored suit, regardless of price/brand looks like shit.
|
most of the indochino suits ive seen fit weird and always require tailoring afterwards.
theres a whole thread about it on styleforum i think |

what do u guys think of TED BAKER suits? I picked one up today at The BAY for 50% off (reg price is $595 and down to $297.50). Are they a reputable brand? I really like the silk design on the inside and I chose it over Kenneth Cole and Micheal Kors suits since they were the same price.
Does Harry Rosen still carry Ted Baker suits? |
Ted Baker is still a popular English brand and is along the lines of Ben Sherman and Penguin. Think Paul Smith on a budget.
|
Like someone above said, Suit Supply is awesome.
Spend way too much tiime and money there when I'm in NYC! |
with offshore MTM guys , how do you guys get your measurements done? Do you go somewhere local or get a buddy to help out?
|
so how many different suits do u guys have in your closet? So far I have 3 ....along with some sport blazers
I just bought another Ted Baker suit in grey today at THE BAY  |

Double breasted is more "english-style" I think I just like to have 1 in my closet Suitable for interviews, meets etc Posted via RS Mobile |
double breasted has two vertical button columns, single has one.
its a bit more formal and has peaked lapels. also it tends to look good if you are a thinner guy. |
what do you guys think of Calvin Klein "X" suits? the top is $425 and the matching pants are $180
they cutting and fit is amazing when I tried it on at the BAY but I didnt buy it since it was more pricy compared to others... I think "X" is their top of their line for suits? |

Starts at about $1100 I believe Posted via RS Mobile |
I prefer buying good quality suits that are reasonably good fits and then budgeting for alteration than having a "cheaper" MTM offshore suit made that I can't feel the materials, etc. I have had great luck buying suits at Nordstrom's rack in Seattle, I have 1 Hugo Boss suit and 2 Calvin Kleins plus a few older suits and have paid less than $400 for the Boss and less than $300 for each of the CK suits. Altering the pants is around $30 for waist and hemming and the jackets are around $60 for sleeves and taking them in/out.
Good luck, Mark |
