Canadian Black Book can give you whole and retail pricing just like NADA, however it's only available to paid users. Some of the auto manufacturer websites have stripped down versions somewhere in their websites that can give you wholesale value based on your options and mileage.

So do what we told you to do, and 'appraise your trade in' and that should give you wholesale value. Add $3-5000 to that and that is approximately what retail pricing should be. Retail prices are usually $3000 to $5000 above wholesale.

What I usually do to make sure one of our used cars is priced reasonably, is I'll look on craiglist or autotrader and see what similar vehicles are selling for. If all the 2009 escape xlt 4x4's with leather and approx 60,000kms are retailing for $27,000, then I'll know ours is a good deal if we've priced it at $25,000.

Keep in mind, Nada, black book, and all the other programs are not always on the money. I've had occasions where black book says $10,000 wholesale for a car, but the brokers would only pay $8000 for it because they say those cars are selling for $11,500 on average.
