as for children getting xrayd even such a low dose of radiation causes harm to children (they're higher risk due to more cells dividing)


and 1in20 people is especially sensitive to xray exposure giving them higher risks in getting cancer etc etc

The guy who wrote the guidelines for airport xray safety/use said he wouldn't have signed off on airport xrays if he knew it was the TSA's plan to scan 2out of 3 passengers by the end of 2011

etc etc lots of debate


edit: forgot, scientists at UC, Columbia etc etc & the guy in charge of writing the guidelines says that the head and neck should be avoided from being scanned (due to the risk of Basel Cell Carcinoma) but the TSA says adjusting the height of the scanner for each person isn't conceivable due to time constraints (i guess a platform/stool is out of the question)

few other Radiology scientists etc say theres too much of a risk to chromosome mutations etc and sperm/breast tissue damage etc (but not all agree)
