Not counting road conditions, my point was that if this driver choose to do this where no other cars were around it would be relatively safer than doing the same on other highways (Malahat, Hwy 1 etc), or even safer than doing 110km/h in the city (Yes I consider The Ferrari/BMW Seymour Mountain incident much more dangerous) Taking that into account, I don't feel the same instantaneous outrage as others here simply hearing the "200km/h" number.
If this guy was doing this around other traffic, or swerving in and out of traffic, then fuck him I'm glad he was caught and punished accordingly.
If this guy were to go out of control and careen off the road or hit a deer/elk and die it would be no one's fault but his own, he took his life into his own hands and I wouldn't give any sympathy to him either.

So if I were to speed at 160 at Highway 1 within the lower mainland at 3am, it shouldn't be that bad of an offense because it's "relatively safer" at those times due to lack of automobile volume?
