Hammond: I absolutely love that car.

Clarkson: But not as fast as a dog.

Hammond: Well no it isn't, but the dog makes a very good point. Because dogs, well all animals in fact, are rear wheel drive. They are. Because, no, think about it. the front wheels they do the steering and the back wheels... That's why a Terrier will always over-steer on like a polished wooden floor *screech* into a kitchen cabinet.

Clarkson: An elephant is definitely not rear wheel drive. That's four wheel drive.

Hammond: Well, how do you make that?

Clarkson: It has four knees, an elephant, that's why it's good off road. And a hyena, that's front wheel drive. Hammond: No it's not. That's rear wheel drive...

Clarkson: No, it's different I promise you, a Hyena is different than any other animal. It's got front wheel drive. It's does it... it's wheels at the front -- propulsion and steering, and then it's back wheels are there just to keep it's bottom off the ground like a spitfire.

Hammond: How do you know that stuff.

Clarkson: I just know these things. It's like atambra(?) doesn't give you this information.

Hammond: Unlike Cats. They can drift. If you watch... no... if you watch a terrier chasing a cat

Clarkson: The classic chase!

Hammond: If you watch the cat will hold in a huge slide. And then 9 times out of 10 the terrier will over stear off.. spin off into a cupboard...

Clarkson: but the terrier is having more fun... cause over-steer is more fun... Hammond: And that the whole point...

Clarkson: Than a four wheel drift..

Hammond: This is a service. Because what we've proved is that a hyena isn't as much fun as a dog because...

Clarkson: whoa whoa a hyena under-stears...

Hammond: A hyena under-steers...

Clarkson: That's the drawback with a hyena... To be honest... Hammond: Yeah it is..

Clarkson: So a dog over-seers which is more fun

Hammond: Than an under-steering hyena so you want a Mazda MX 5 because it's rear wheel drive.
