I remember asking the tech if there was anything they could do about my battery. He did some scan and pretty much ordered one. I don't know if it was for a recall or not, but all I know is I've been using it for 2.5 years and the only thing that seemed wrong was that it was diminished capacity.

Yeah I had mine replaced due to buldging battery issue so it was technically defective. Doesn't hurt to try I guess.
