Nahh.. our research is free, but for commercial purposes it is not. Also IP doesn't really apply if you approach the problem in another way.. eg even changing the composition of the magnets invalidates the IP.
Porsche has their own R&D eg their 919 project. Also have a ton more OE backing like Bosch, Siemens etc.. Tesla burnt a lot of bridges when they screw around with the gearboxes back when they created the Roadster.
