I called into Telus for a family member to switch this or something similar. A good 60 minutes and four different customer service reps later, we went from from 10 months left in a contract, 1GB, local calling plus the ridiculous phone insurance for $105+tax to 6GB, nationwide talk and text for $75 AND we are out of the contract.
Still a far cry from my Koodo $50/5GB, but a win nonetheless, as the plan is now month-to-month and we can now switch over to Bell or Rogers without penalty
