My temper was a lot shorter back then, and it was both heart-breaking and infuriating to have the girl that you're pouring your heart out for tell you that she doesn't have much feelings for you even though she knows you love her dearly. In my case, she also told me she only wanted her ex to love her.
Looking back at it now, I'm glad it happened because the failed relationship helped me grow. But at the time when it happened, it was absolutely devastating.
