yesterday i ordered a pizza before i left work and headed towards the patullo bridge where the pizza place is, i went about 50m in 20mins, then about 200m in an hour, decided to abandon my pizza and head to the port mann.
almost no traffic until a certain bottleneck where cars werent moving at all. the only way around was a steep as neighborhood hill with fresh snow. my forester with A/T tires went up with no drama at all and i managed to basically circle around all the traffic. once i completed the loop to get back to the main road, there were zero cars around me, everyone was just stuck in a bottleneck where there were presumably some blockages due to cars being stuck.
i even drove all the way to the port mann and barely saw another car going my direction. on the bridge itself there was just one car facing the wrong way that i passed and again almost no other cars there, everyone was stuck just trying to get to the bridge, nobody was actually on it.
it was nice having the right car and tires for the job, it probably saved me at least 2-3 hours of driving yesterday. it took me almost an hour to decide to turn around before the patullo, then once i headed for the port mann i got home in burquitlam in just 40 mins.
another big positive was i called the pizza place when i got home to ask if they could freeze my pizza for me and they said they totally missed my order and never made it, so i got refunded!
