do as much research as you can and give a copy to the estimator to show what you car is worth. They will go from there. If you don't like the settlement price, you can try to appeal.

Your VR-4 is a rare machine here, but it doesn't mean it could cost CAD$10k.... Check out how much it's worth in HK right now, it's more like HKD20k or less...
Wait a few more years and get the newest and the last VR-4!!

ya my VR4 also has 2.0L V6 LOL. Do your research first.  What it's worth in foreign market is entirely irrelevant, the idea is that to get a replacement vehicle of the same type will easily cost me $8000 because it's rare and imported. Sure it's cheap in HK/Japan importing it is still going to cost a lot of money and time.
