Lol just 2 weeks ago I was in my brothers friends Z4 with my bro at the wheel and instead of reverse he went in drive and literally just stopped the car half an inch from the front wall of a house (infact the license plate touched the wall). Pretty close!

What happened is probably the following:

1)kid decides to show his friend the stereo
2)they get bored
3)they decide it would be cool to fire up the engine
4)turn the key in the ignition
5)nothing happens
6)they remember seeing on TV that the clutch needs to go down
7)hold clutch down, start the car
8)sweet exhaust note, everybody's happy
9)foot comes off clutch
10)911 Turbo through garage door.

My money is on it being parked in gear, kid only knows that you need to push in the clutch to start it. dropped the clutch after start and went for a ride.
