There's a lot of weird shit in the oceans that we discover all the time. I highly recommend watching Blue Planet (bbc's ocean version of planet earth) and I'm sure you'll see weird stuff you didn't know about. And that's in the parts of the ocean we've explored!
It's easier for us to go up into space then it is for us to explore the deeper parts of the ocean and very likely there's all sorts of "monsters" down there that we have no scientific data on.

Pretty sure we dont have any large animals we haven't discover. Evolution is a process most suitable for small organisms like bacteria, virus, small fish or insects. Large animals like dinosaur or some giant fish most likely cant survive climate change because their body and organ systems are too complex to have a mutation happening soon enough for adaptation.
You hear these type of discovery writing on the news article but never got any follow up because after all the testing, its always something like a whale DNA or some large Seal DNA.
Discovery channel monster hunt series are just some red necks living their fantasy and acting it out like its a drama.......all for entertainment purposes.
People used to say that giant squid didn't exist and then the Japanese captured videos of it. The ocean is full of creatures we don't know about - we know more about the moon than our oceans !
My dad works on cargo ship in his career and travel around the world. When I was young I read about giant squid and I asked him about it. He said he only heard about it but never seen it, but he witnessed octopus as big as a new born whale before ( with it's tentacles ). He has also seen a dead deep sea fish which looked super weird and has no eye.
And off topic, I asked him about pirate and yes there are still pirate out there nowadays hahaha. Nothing like the movie tho, they usually travel in a smaller boat or boats when in group Posted via RS Mobile
