how much is this car worth?

1995 dodge caravan
this is not the grand caravan, no power windows, no power locks

engine: 3.0L 6 cylinder
color: grey
mileage: 106xxxkm
transmission: i think its 4 speed auto has P R N D 2 1
security: clifford alarm

pros:
car is in good condition - seats always had seat covers on
engine still runs good
transmission still good
oil changed every 4000km
all major maintenance has been done - time belt, all fluids flushed at around 90xxxkm
aircared this year and passed with flying colors

cons:
right shock is bad so needs a change
tint is slowly coming off - been on for 10 years+
been in a few accidents - been hit from the side twice, rear ended once, broken into 2 times, one hit and run, after the break-ins installed the clifford alarm which is very loud
think that is all the accidents

500

the shock itself probably cost more than the price of the van.
my buddy's parents have replaced it twice...then the belts and many other parts started failing.

Guy at the end of my block took 3 weeks to sell his '97 w/ 160k, new tranny, pw, pdl, a/c. He had a sign on it that said $500. Who knows what he ended up getting.

There's a guy on another board I'm on that's had his mid '90's Caravan up for over 2 months. I think he was asking $900.

If it's been insured for the last year and you're considering getting a new mtn bike or car, check the scrap-it program site and see if you're eligible. I think they just dropped the rates but you can still get like $1500 towards a new car or $500 towards a bike.

My honest evaluation would be 1500 if it has working AC
The other decs aren't too bad, but I would check how bad the side collisions were

If the engine + transmission is still good, parting that out would get some decent money also with the seats too, based on your description car should be pretty visually appealing from the outside minus the peeling tint,

the only reason you were able to find those prices on craiglist is because those vans are overpriced and are not selling.

well..

I think you should price the van at a bit more than $500 to make room for a lot of bargaining, but in the end you should be getting $500.

ppl are going to bargin like crazy since it's a dodge caravan.

last year, my neighbour sold his dodge caravan for $500; however, i'm not sure about the millage and history.

You're better off scrapping the vehicle (http://www.scrapit.ca/)

They offer trade-in incentives: $750-1250 as a trade-in for a new car, or bus passes, or $700 towards a bike, etc.

Much better deal than putting in the effort to sell it. Might be worth it if you can sell it for a grand though

CV joints are $49-$149 (depending on your source and discount)

Minimum 1 hour labour @ $50-$100 per hour
