If you and your wife have a house with extra rooms ie 3 empty bedrooms or more, house some international students. She can be the working housewife, best of both worlds. She has to cook, clean the house and look after the students and at the same time earn some income while doing "housework". So when you come home from work, dinner will be ready as she has prepared it for you as well as the students. It is more tiresome compared to a 9-5 job, but the house is kept clean and that extra income can be put towards the mortgage and shit for her.

What about role reversal? Like the guy is the one staying home taking care of the kids etc while the wife is out making the money? Posted via RS Mobile |

I guess it's all about what you're willing to give up to get the lifestyle you'd like. That wouldn't work for me as I'd never rent out any rooms or anything in my house I like my privacy to much but to each his own.

Most of the guys I know that keep telling girls that they don't want them to work, usually just say it either to get laid, or finally obtain a relationship. It's basically only meant to impress. Posted via RS Mobile |

I know of people that make making 300k + a year and they still have a wife that works, it all depends, the expenditures they have are through the roof, albiet they have big homes, rental homes, and nice cars. But even then, they said they perfer the wife working a little bit, so they know atleast how hard this money is being earned.

the way he sees it, he wants to be able to provide me with the option of not having to work after we have children should I choose to do so. however I know i'll probably end up working at least part-time once the kids are in school and what not cause i might go nuts having to be at home all the time..
the level of income one needs to live comfortably varies from individual to individual, i know families surviving comfortably on a combined annual income of 50k. so really it's all subjective.

ever considered that there are housewives who work an office job part time. this is typical RS nothing is so cut and dry. in most cases the wife will have their own version of a career. she can most likely work part time and still take care of the kids.
btw, has anyone even thought that the husband stays home while the wife works. there are tons of woman who now make more money than men
