My Boyfriends Mazda 3 Sport is a LEMON

Just found this forum and very excited! My BFs mazda 2004 had problems from the start. Now his power steering light is on, he spent $500 on a power steering sensor and guess what?? It's still on, now he needs to spend $1000 on his power steering pump. Seriously?

a tsb doesn't do anything.
The car is 2004, so it is out of warranty unless he got extended.
Where did he take the car to get it fixed? It's weird that they "fixed" it and gave the car back with the light still on.

OP: So are you coming onto revscene to ask because you're tired of your boyfriend's issues with his car or can he not come on here himself to ask about it?

I'm not saying this to be disrespectful in anyway, but shouldn't he be asking since it's his car and he would/should know best?

The first thing I would do is see if I can diagnose the error code and then go to a mazda forum and ask for them to decipher it for you. The information that you've given in your post really doesn't say much about the problem for anyone here to give any sort of useful solution.

determining the error code is quite simple and you can google how to do it. once you have that, it'll give people a better idea on how to answer your question.

there is a recall on mazda3's of that generation for the the parts within the power steering pump assembly and also the power steerlines.

i think its a voluntary recall, as i've seen cars from out of town and even the states go in for warranty work.
