seriously wtf is wrong with China. 18 people walk by not a single person bothered and how could the driver run over the girl with the rear tires again. holy fuck..
at first i typically thought wtf why are they so heartless....after reading the comments i retract most of my initial burst of hatred to "china" in general because after reading the comments it made me realize that they are just like us.....
cant hate on them, most of the population came from poor backgrounds and mainland china's culture reflects it.
and i think to a certain degree it happens here in North america also.

as far as i have read, they caught the 2nd driver that ran her over.... the first driver is still out there.
edit:
anyways she didnt make it from reading more of the comments.. and someone even suggested the possibility of intent by the parents(who wants to have a boy instead).

I disagree, not to a little girl laying dieing on the street. Maybe people would be almost as heartless if it was a drunk adult bum but I doubt that scene here would look anything like the one on that video with people walking past a dieing child. I know I've pulled over before to check on drunk guy past on the sidewalk on my way to work, a little girl laying in the street? no way I'd pass by without stopping, not ever.

"It isn’t ignoring, it’s not daring. If one were to encounter a Nanjing judge, one would be screwed.
[Note: "Nanjing judge" refers to the infamous 2006 case of a man named Peng Yu who helped a woman to the hospital after she had fallen only to have the old woman accuse him of knocking her down. The Nanjing judge in that case ultimately ruled that common sense dictated that only the person who hit her would take her to the hospital, setting a precedent that continues only further discourages and reinforces many Chinese people's wariness to help others in similar situations.]"
Interesting comment that sheds some light.

A few years ago, my parents were visiting China and witnessed a cyclist being knocked down by a car. My parents were shocked as other witnesses just walked around the visibly dazed and confused woman, so they went over and tried to help.
Stories such as this no longer surprise me, and when I shared it with one Chinese citizen friend of mine, he commented that people in China are expendable. The government of China happily reinforces what we might think of as selfish behaviour.
Rest In Peace ... omg fuck those 18 assholes who just walked by

RIP: The two-year-old girl from Foshan, China, who was left for dead on the street after a double hit-and-run, has passed away.
The hospital where Yueyue had been under intensive care for the last seven days announced the sad news at a press briefing this morning.
CCTV footage showing over a dozen people ignoring the critically wounded toddler enraged the Chinese public, sparking heated discussions about morality and community. The topic remains a popular one on the country’s social networks.

in china ppl don't offer help
they are scared that they will get sued
lots of scams
I gotta quote this. It's absolutely true in China. Some do the most messed up things to get money from other people. People throw themselves behind cars that are reversing, just so they can sue the driver, or they pretend to be hit.
The mindset is generally 'if I stop to help, it may be a trap'.
I've been told that in China when a vehicle hits a pedestrian/cyclist which results in severe injuries, they are very tempted to either A) get away or B) run over the person again and hope they kill them. The reason for B is that they do not want to be on the hook for the medical bills, especially when the injuries are long term or life-long.
