Building endurance on the elliptical trainer

It's been about 8 months since i've worked out.

Tried getting back on it, but endurance is just not there compared to last summer.

I can lasts about 5 mins, then my calves starts to give up.

Any techniques to bring it up? I know I can last 45 mins np.

You've been off for 8 months. Don't expect yourself to be at the same level now compared to 8 months ago.

Slow it down the first few times, once you feel it getting easier, ramp the intensity.
