Things to know after 90 day prohibition. I nearing the end of my 90 day prohibition and have a few question for others who have been in my position. First of all I'm an N driver, and have received 2(5 pts in total) tickets for which caused my probation. First ticket Illegal U-Turn and second was Speeding+failure to display N(coming back from road trip, lost my N) A month after my speeding ticket I was pulled over because I didn't have plates on my car; I had a 3 day permit so there's only a piece of paper on the windshield. During that, the lady scanned my license and told me I was suppose to be on a 90 day prohibition thing. She ended up taking my license and giving me a temporary license in the form of a paper which allowed me to drive home. Anyways my prohibition is coming to an end and I was just wondering about a couple things like what else I have to pay on top of the $31 and $250 reinstating fee? Will I have to do any test? What happens if I get another ticket for illegal driving or having an illegal car mod? Also if there's anything you want to add it would be great. |
If you get another driving infraction ticket you will get suspended again. Modifications, vehicle inspection stuff like that don't count. You don't need to take a test but you do restart the time frame when you can take your class 5. |

You actually got 3 tickets, but only 2 that carried violation points and then ignored the registered letter suspension notice from MV Branch, did not surrender your DL and got caught driving while suspended. You were fortunate that the Police let you drive home, most would not. You were also fortunate that you were not involved in a crash as you might have been denied insurance coverage. I hope you have taken note of what happens when you choose to break the rules. ICBC will tell you anything else you will need to know, including what happened to your N time period. You will get the most accurate info from them, rather than from BB postings. As per your request, that is what I have to add. :) |

Prohibition = suspended. And it doesn't matter when you get your letter, all that matters is the dates that are written on the letter. Usually they overnight the letter to you (what they did in my case). Also, when you get your licence back you'll be on probation. 1 point and you lose your licence for longer than what you lost it for the first time. |

sorry zulu I guess this guy must be your superior. he sure knows ALL about it but yet he needed to come on RS and ask for help. I fricking love how he called you ignorant, and "making an ass of yourself." Just fucking EPICCC. HAHAHA. OP if your license is still valid, why dont you keep driving? I mean.. Not having your driver license under your possession is okay, when you get pulled again its only a 75 dollar ticket with 0 points. so drive on. Quote:

Ummmmm......ummmmm..................... All I can say. Wait, all I WILL say is that you came on this forum. Created this thread to ASK for ADVICE, and when it is given, by arguably the most knowledgeable member on this forum with respect to the MVA, you criticize him? You seem to not know the difference between a Prohibition and Probation either. They are two different things. While having your licence suspended and being Prohibited from driving are technically two different terms, they are interchangeable. Having your licence suspended results in a driving prohibition. |
Noob doesn't realize he's talking to a retired cop who spent more years working the roads than OP has probably been on this planet :lawl: |

Stop being so ignorant, zulu! :troll: |
Something tells me OP is too much of a little bitch to come back to this thread and go at it with Zulu, or anyone for that matter. :troll: |
Awaiting OP's response. Posted via RS Mobile |

The Supt. M Vehs has the authority to suspend/prohibit any DL as a DL is not a "right'...what they use as criteria to do that is up to them. Normally I'm not aware of them suspending for a fail to display without points, but if a driver had a really bad record then they may decide the latest ticket is an indication of continued bad driving/attitude and yank the DL. |

my driving history was not horrendous either (despite me being young and stupid at that stage in my life) but I guess that's still entirely subjective LOL. I had 2 prior infractions that led to my suspension, to put some context into it these were the two infractions. 1. Going straight in a right turn lane through an intersection (where only buses were permitted to go straight through in that lane) 2. Speeding in municipality. |
for those still in the GLP program, if you get tickets, you should always dispute them. Especially if you're close to the end of your 2 year period. Disputed tickets don't count against you until after the court date. So if you get a ticket with a few months left on your 2 year N period, dispute it, take your class 5 test as soon as you can and get your class 5. The disputed ticket won't get to court until a year or so later, then you can go to court, plead guilty if you want, get a reduced ticket amount and enjoy having your class 5. |
