Do red light camera always flash?

So this morning, while driving to work; being tired and all(coffee hasnt kicked in yet) I accidentally ran a red light. Thank god no one was coming through the other side. While halfway through the intersection, I noticed it was red so adrenaline kicked in, pulled over to the side afterwards to make sure I was okay. I didn't see or notice any flash though, so did I get caught by the red light camera? I was really spooked, I've been driving for over 7 years now and I've never been in an accident nor pulled over except for an incident where my fogs were on. This happened at 4:30am in North Van at a what would usually be busy intersection.

In my area, barely any intersection/lights have cameras but all the ones that do, have a large flash. I haven't gotten one but I've seen multiple people get them when they're behind or in front of me and have tried making the light.

To avoid flashing...don't run reds.....and stay away from homeless camps in Abbotsford.

This. There are cameras, and there are empty camera boxes. I heard that there are only a select few cameras that are rotated to different boxes at different intersections. That being said, don't run reds. It's incredibly dangerous and annoying as well.

in the over 100+ red light cameras in the GVRD, apparently only half of them are on at a time, and that is based randomly. In the light of the half of them that are on at that specific time, all of them are reviewed before being acted on.

also remember that most cameras are only active for the first couple of Seconds after the light goes red
