[Confidential] Skunk type smell from armpits.

The following is a submission by an anonymous Revscene member

Anyone else experience this or have this issue?
Even after showering and using the Axe Detailer (Coarse side) and scrubbing vigorously, few hrs later, I can faintly smell it. Its even worse when I start sweating, the smell is so strong.. With the summer heatwave about to come, its going to be a nightmare.

Anyone have any remedies/creams or is going to doctor is the only way??

Thanks

Just to be clear....

You said "few hrs later, I can faintly smell it"...

So, did you use a deodorant or an antiperspirant after showering?

Take a visit to your doctor--it could be a fungal infection that requires a special steroid cream. You could have gotten the infection from an expired deodorant, shaving, etc etc. Since it is a warm and moist area it's not uncommon for infections to occur.

I have hairy armpits and the hair tends to absorb smells if I don't wear antiperspirant.
I also take a bit of shampoo to clean out any antiperspirant or deodorant or B.O.

It helps

Aww someone hit puberty

Really though, a combination of "clinical" antiperspirant at night (Certain Dri) and deodorant after you shower will keep you smelling fresh as a rose

Axe deodorant by itself won't do anything, and in many cases smells worse than BO

A fungal infection *may* be possible but you shouldn't be using a steroid to treat it.

For the original poster:
Note the difference between deodorant and antiperspirant:
Deodorant masks the smell - usually smells great
Antiperspirant prevents you from sweating (quite possibly the reason you have the smell) - usually contains aluminum chloride or ziconium or the likes.

Read the labels, the spray is simply a masker of the smell.
Hopefully the antiperspirant will help make a difference.

Are you on any antibiotics? I was on some last summer that made me smell so bad that deodorant wasn't working, the smell actually reminded me of the potent skunk smell. Generally speaking deodorant has always more then enough but the antibiotics I was on did something to my body that wasn't cool. Once I got off them it was back to normal.

you should probably just trim your armpit pubes and use a deodorant/antiperspirant combo so it actually touches your skin and not the armpit pubes

I guess I am lucky since I am not a hairy person and I don't sweat a lot... so no smell for me at all........
