Black Friday 2014

Anyone even keen on this? Haven't seen/heard much in terms of deal hunting or worthwhile door busters.

With the USD stronger than it has been in recent years compared to the CDN, is anyone still looking to do cross-border shopping or is it a better idea to stay closer to home?

I saw some ads for bestbuy and walmart in bellingham. 50" TV's for $200 usd doesn't look too shabby.

haven't really seen anything worth buying

and some of the black friday deals you can already have if you order from the states and it still ends up being a few dollars cheaper with the exchange

i don't consider door crashers mind you as they're too hard to get and im not going to line up anywhere to try

ray666 11-24-2014 09:33 PM

Like our boxing days, it's probably difficult to score any great "deals" unless you line up the night before and be one of the first ones in. However at this day in age, many deals can also be found online. Just ship across the border and pick up; no need for lines and/or dealing with people.

With the exchange rate sucking so bad, the deal has to be huge otherwise it's really not worth it.

I'll probably walk through Pacific Center and Robson st. Granville St. on my way to work, see if there's any clothes worth picking up.

There's soo0o0o0o many great deals for Black Friday in the states. I'm currently working on the Black Friday App at work inputting prices and products, you guys should definitely check it out if you plan on doing some shopping down in the states. Items are also available online if you have a PO box or friends place to pick up.

I can hook you guys up at Future Shop tomorrow with prices better than our Black Friday deals tomorrow. PM me if you guys need anything :hotbaby:

Mr.HappySilp 11-26-2014 10:50 PM

Nope don't need anything.

Porschedog 11-26-2014 11:08 PM

50" tv for $200.. someone is going to get hurt lol

PeanutButter 11-26-2014 11:27 PM

A lot of people I know are still buying tons of stuff in the states even though it's not even worth it anymore.

The exchange rate is pretty bad right now, add the gas, time, and possible taxes and duties when coming back. Definitely not worth it. Yet, a lot of people don't get it.

Does anybody know if Cyber Monday usually has a few items that were sold out on Black Friday?

Y2K_o__o 11-27-2014 08:14 AM

You might be able to find some good deals if you pay attention to weekly flyer instead of black friday and boxing days.

I found in recent years, boxing day deals are not deal anymore.

honestly, do we really need more cheap chinese made shit in our lives?

and with the way technology moves, whatever you'd have to stress over to get on black friday, you can get a better deal in the new year.

patience has been lost in today's culture, along with an appreciation for the simpler things in life.

Do u actually know anything about tvs or are u just trying to look smart?

Most tv's are made with the same components which come from the same factories

hotjoint 11-28-2014 10:38 PM

You can find better deals if you look hard enough that aren't on black friday and boxing day.

What model? I mean, it's big, I get it, but all the crazy black friday/boxing day deals I've seen on TVs were either ones with inferior parts or shitty firmware or both.

They don't, it's just some weird labeling on HP's part. It's an AMD A8-6410

Hondaracer 11-29-2014 10:46 PM
