I may go for the Weber E210 or 310 despite being made in China. home depot has a Broil-Mate 4-burner for $399 I am tempted by. Made in North America in the same factory as Broil King.
I assume you're entertaining primarily for you and your partner, or hosting the occasional dinner party. Space is always nice, but in terms of heat and distribution, the Weber Q-series will cook most of the things you want (unless you want to do beer-can chicken, or something large). I've had a Q100 for over 5 years and it's been fine for our needs. I've even hosted parties with it and it's more than enough - you just need to space out the cooking.

Bought a Sterling last year for my in laws at Rona for $290.

Really good BBQ. We used it ~20 times in the summer and it was really good. Cast iron grills too.

Can't wait till this year to see how well the bbq stands up over time.

Is the stainless steel grill that much more durable than the porcelain coated cast iron steel?

i think a lot of it has to do with proper care, if you use a metal brush on ur porcelain...it's going to scrape away and ruin it

Stainless grill will basically last the whole life of the BBQ.

Where as porcelain coated grill grates will eventually wear away. But it can last a long time too by following manufacturer's instructions on care.

Before you get a grill, you should check if your condo allows propane tanks on the deck..

I've looked at the char broil ones and read reviews. While they seem like they perform well, the maintenance required on the infrared plates seem far too high after seeing it in person. I don't think I have the discipline to keep them clean.

Lots of tiny holes to keep clean.

Weber is the only brand to buy. It will never let you down even if you ocassionally neglect it. Skip the other junks and grab one off craigslist if its there.

For single-2ppl a Q-320 will be more than enough.

I have had my Weber EP320 for the past 7 years, grills great food. Only issue was the regulator and Weber shipped me a new one under warranty. I opted for the 9mm stainless grill, 5mm would do too but I got a great deal on the 9mm.

Weber or Vermont Casting are the only 2 brands of bbq I would buy. Yes they cost more, but they last a very long time.

Napoleon is the best brand for household grilling. Need to step up to the prestige models to get a canadian made one though. Well worth the money!

Ended up getting the Broil King one. The sales man at Rona was extremely knowledgeable. He said you can't go wrong with Weber's but he also mentioned a lot of good stuff about Broil King. Many customers walked past me while I was talking to the sales man and were pointing at how they have used the Broil King one for many years and still running strong.

Btw, anyone here does the propane exchange program? Which one is the best?

ive got a weber q300 and had to replace the hose once. fortunately its under warranty, weber warranty is very good, sends it to you for free if you are still under warranty and the parts are fairly cheap. I had a cracked cover and no receipt and they sent me one for free anyway without receipts.

the grates have seen better days but for something that sits outside for 5+ years, its worth getting new ones anyway. as someone said here, make sure you have a cover and try to clean it atleast once a season.

I bought a used Weber Silver series on craigslist. New stainless burners and new ceramic grills and I basically had a new full size Weber BBQ for $250.

I definetely agree with everyone. A quality grill is a must. On a budget, the Q series are great! I personally like more grilling space. I use burners at vastly different temperatures and it really burns up grilling space fast.

Can't wait to move somewhere permanent and get the ultimate grill setup. One day

Decided to search to see whats on the used market. Basically exactly what I bought.

Amazon for new burners, flavourizers and grills and you have a new grill.

These two are on Consumer Reports recommended list for small BBQs in this month's issue:
https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.s...000833736.html

https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.s...000833737.html

The Char-Broil grill you listed received slightly above average marks from CR (though users cited reliability issues online) and the Kitchen-Aid grill was rated poorly.

My Weber Genesis is 10 years old this summer. It gets regular cleaning/polishing, you could easily mistake it for new, though I have gone through 3 covers now. What I also like is they haven't changed the design much, definitely no urge to replace it.

I was looking for a weber s330 for the past couple of months but every place is out of stock considering they changed the design and have upped the prices for the new genesis line
Went with a broil king regal and been very happy with it, wish I could have gotten the s330 or the napoleon p500
If you can find the older genesis line get it!
