I just dropped a brand new starter in there. i think the bitch is over heating and needs some sort of heat shield aorund it or some dumb ass thing.

heat shield on a starter... thats a new one. what exactly happens when you turn the ignition?

Well it starts now but when i've been driving it for a ocuple of hours and it doesnt get a chance to cool down you turn the key and everything lights up but there is no engine noise nothing moves except the the Radiator fan and the Engine cooling fan.

i'll assume the starter is either screwed or the install is screwed

and uhh i dont recall ever seeing a heat shield on a starter

my thoughts, you got a shitty new started, or did something wrong putting it in. it happens.

dude how do you know stuff about cars or any of you for that matter and not know about heat shielding on starters. And no it wasn't put in wrong trust me. The only other thing i can think of is the new starter is drawing too much voltage off the battery or not enough dunno.

uhhh only thing it'd be drawing is current(amps).

And if you're thinkin of a heat shield issue, your problem should only be apparent AFter bein driven for like...however long to get some nice heat build up in that area...so for instance unless it sucks right in the morning..or after bein sitting there for more then 4hrs or so...then i dont' think its a heat related problem.

There is always a huge chance of faulty "new" parts..you have no idea how many mis-machined/faulty parts get delivered.

Because i've pulled starters out of the exact same car as you own, and i've never seen a heat shield on a starter. Nor have i seen one on any other car I've worked on.
