Fans will be welcomed back to The O.C. early this year, thanks to a pair of FOX specials aimed at keeping obsessed viewers happy until the prime-time soap's Nov. 4 season premiere.

To keep the drama's profile high – as well as highlight its move to Thursday nights at 8 – FOX plans to broadcast two hourlong O.C. specials on Sept. 16 and 23, Variety reports.

Fox has two hour-long, behind-the-scenes specials scheduled for September to tide the "O.C." faithful over until the show's return Nov. 4.

The first "The O.C.: Obsess Completely" arrives Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. to be followed by "Welcome to The O.C.: A Day in the Life" Sept. 23.

Don't expect any answers to cliffhanger questions, though. There'll be "never-before-seen moments" and bloopers from the first season, cast interviews and maybe a peek at what's to come.

Preston Beckman, Fox's executive vice president of strategic program planning and research, told the Daily News the specials are a way "to heat up the time period" Thursday nights at 8 - where "The O.C." will try to fill the void left by NBC's now-departed "Friends."

The specials are also part of a promise Fox made to the show's creator and executive producer Josh Schwartz to give him and the show a rest.

will fox be showing Season 2 in widescreen HDTV format? They show North Shore that way and it seems to make the show more intense and cool looking hehe...

I always download the North Shore because they upload the widescreen format....hope the same will happen for the OC.

The OC is always available in FOX HDTV Widescreen format. I've got the entire Season #1 in HDTV format from Bittorent. ;)

WHAT!!!!! I remember last season i missed an ep here and there on TV and i downloaded them from suprnova and they were fullscreen rips from CTV...

reallY? mine were widescreen rips from fox, but then i downloaded the full season.

maybe it was cuz CTV aired sooner, so i would download the first releases which were from CTV, i guess the fox widescreen releases would come out after FOX aired 2-3 whatever days later...

Damn. . . after seeing the preview of Season #2, I'm just dying for it to start. It's over 1 month away damn it!!!!! :(

I can't believe the amount of fan following this show has. . . everyone I talk to has seen or heard of the show. Seems like they'll even have more fans for this upcoming season.

The DVD box set of Season #1 is coming out next month too!

Actually, it's only a couple weeks away...but I know what you mean...I'm dying to watch the show.

If it's a reasonable price, I'll buy that DVD set.
