wow the wheels look amazing. i've had rim work done from green's and ya there pretty pricey but they do very good work.

:eek2: I'm 99% sure that Panther once quoted me a price like that for just a repaint/refinish (no curbage or polishing!).

Thanks for the update Deception. They look absolutely fantastic!

A friend of mine lent his car out. His centerline rims came back not round anymore and kind of folded.

Took them to Panthers, they were around $150 a wheel and cam back looking better than from the factory.

penner2k 06-28-2004 07:24 PM

sweet.. only thing that sucks is if they come back looking better then from the factory my other rims are gonna look weird.. hehe
anyone know of any good rim cleaning solution?

thumper 06-28-2004 08:04 PM

how do u maintain wheels that don't have a clearcoat? will there be pitting/oxidization?

Sweet2L 06-28-2004 09:40 PM

So you bring your rims there with no tire on them? Or do they take the tire off, refinish them and remount them?

penner2k 06-29-2004 06:54 AM

they take off the wheel and rebalance it and everything..

Polish and protect them with a metal polish like Autosol or Wenol once every two weeks or so. Not too much work. Oh yeah, no driving in snow/salt. :D

Sweet2L: You can bring a wheel with no tire, or a wheel with tire. They have tire mounting machines.

i have been doing some research about wheel repair..

shit this sounds very expensive.. $150x4=$600

i might as well buy other set of wheels.

yiujun 02-07-2009 11:29 PM

wow you just brought a 5 year old thread back to life :D
anyways would anyone know if nu-brite is still in business? need to fix a bend and im just considering my options here..

greens is the closest but they seem the priciest too...

TRDood 02-08-2009 01:42 AM

considering repairing and refinishing a rim cost $150-200...
a normal (not those high end brands) rim is just as much! if not only 30-50% more..

but anyways, i guess these services will be for rims that cost like.. $800 a piece.

mmmk 02-13-2009 01:14 AM

I went to Green's to repair one of my Volk wheels.

I was not impressed with the repair, color of the anodize lip didn't match.
In addition, they left a 1 inch scratch on my lip (even though it was just refinished by them). I didn't complained though...whatever.

It cost $230. Took them 3 days. I will never go back to them.

AhXian 02-13-2009 12:40 PM

wow.. i was just about to go to them to get my rim fixed this week since they are the closest to me.

xpandabl3 02-13-2009 06:25 PM

I just got my wheels back from Panther, Paul and Jim were good guys and I'm 100% satisfied with their service. I had my curb repaired and repainted to Matte Black entirely. They definitely get my vote!

Can you break down the price for the repair + paint job? I have another wheel that I need to repair and I'm thinking of going to Panthers this time.

Also, how long did it take for the job?

BTW, your stock G35 wheels are curbed, mine are still pretty good

It was $200 a wheel for fixing missing pieces and curbed lip, machined out the chrome lip, matte black paint. This took 4 days exact. I dropped the wheels on monday afternoon then got them back on friday morning. This of course all included mount and balance. The G35 wheels have been like for 3-4 years

TRDood 02-15-2009 11:41 PM

thats a pretty good price!

any close ups and before/after pics?

Hakkaboy 02-16-2009 07:35 PM

that's a pretty good price. it's going to cost me about 150/wheel just to repolish my lips due to it being a 3 piece wheel and needing to take apart.

dunno if i want to sink in another 75/rim to get the centres painted or not, since that's 900 just in refinishing alone!

next time i'm buying 1 piece wheels...or avoiding anodized lips

Aleks 02-18-2009 10:22 PM

Do any of these guys do Chrome lips? Im lookin to buy a set of work meisters but they are in bad shape, i would love to Chrome the lips, if not than i guess polished is good too. Ive had 1 of my rims done by Green's before and the lip came back weird, not shiny, not polished like, just kinda weird...lol i want a polished/chrome look....
