hunters got crazy buffed..deadzone was pretty much taken away.
despair got somewhat buffed too

what kinda team are you running?
you still can't disagree that it is more important for a non-plate wearing class. i mean there's a huge difference between a 3k crit on plate and a 5k crit on cloth.

it honestly doesnt matter to me..everyone needs resil. if one player doesnt have it, hes the one were targetting regardless of class. plate doesnt do anything against casters anyways and i usually roll with a mage, but even when we run with just a war he can drop the pally fast with like 40 percent crit chance.
my main team is priest mage war..our best team is priest mage rogue, but we run a lot of teams to help our friends and alts get gear. my favorite team and war and 2 healers, pally and priest..and sometimes we target pallys first even when he has resil gear. all of us have 400+ resil, i think im currently at 428 with 3 vengeful pieces.

without resil..3 crits will happen quicker than you think and 3 crits from our war will drop you since most pve gear isnt stacked with stam anyways. most teams dont run all melee dps either, in fact, there are more 3v3s for example with 2 or even 3 spell casters. plate wouldnt do anything for you there.

MS war + resto druid + sl/sl lock would be your best choice for 3v3.

right now i am running rogue (myself) / resto druid / SL/SL lock. this setup was awesome pre 2.3

for 2.3 i think i will run R/M/P. AR/PREP is seriously the way to go for rogues. frost mage and holy/disc priest with PI and pain suppression is fucking unstoppable.

just wondering.. but is anyone in a Hyjal/BT guild at all?

sl/sl lock is only good for 2v2 to outlast ur opponent. need more burst for 3v3. if u drain mana in 3v3 chances r one of u will die from the 2 dps before their healer goes outta mana.

actually thats an extremely good team. you will be hard pressed to dps through a druids heals, especially against an sl lock. druids arent known to go oom that quickly and they can pop innervate, not to mention they are nearly impossible to cc. if you dont go for the druid, he can cyclone between your dps completely cutting down on your damage. and if you go for the druid, he can just kite you all day while the warlock spams fears. coupled with the warlocks mana drain, the warriors ms will run your healer oom before you can do any real damage. i know from experience that druid warlock anything is one of the hardest teams to fight. i think it was at the last wsg that one of the top 3 teams was using the drain team of hunter/lock/druid, until it was finally countered by druid/rogue/rogue, but as far as i know, they specifically chose that makeup to counter their opponents. so how many teams do you think really run druid rogue rogue? i probably would if i could though.

druid/sl/sl lock is awesome for 2v2, only hard time for me with that combo is war/druid, priest/rogue. however for me lock/war/druid with the lock as sl/sl drain spec isnt very good against the higher ranked dps (2100+). 2 dps > 1 lock draining. but if it was 2 mana drainers like hunter/lock/druid like u said, thats a different story

that was just an example, you seemed to ignore everything before that..and i know the druid lock dps team is efficient because i play at the 2200+ level and we still struggle to win against that team. in fact, we lose quite a bit against them. 2 dps isnt gunna out damage a skilled pvp druid that cant be cs'ed, even when theyre not being cced to shit. i run with a mage and weve been in games where both of us have been completely drained. so if you have a caster other than a warlock, you can expect your dps to be drained as well.
its at the higher levels where dps doesnt win you games, the team does. outplaying, outccing, outlasting, outwhatevering your opponent wins you games. with the gear everyone has at the higher levels, you are not gunna drop a guy quick, especially not a druid, definitely not a warlock, and you wont drop a warrior feared, cycloned, and with a druid who can pop crazy heals without really having to cast. if you get a rogue in the team, not only will it make it that much harder of a team to kill..your cc will be bolstered too..
going by your reasoning, the only time a lock shouldnt have to spec sl is in 2v2, because he would get dropped by this crazy dps otherwise.

of course i was top for everything except for healing. but hey im a warrior. haha
