I have an axe now.

...but I bought another beer mug...so you guys can see me walking around Org drunk and double fisted sometimes.

And I'm almost level 57. I'm SURE I can kick Ulic's ass now. Hahahaa...I can hit for 1300 instantly and heal myself for 2000 instantly...bring it, warrior bitch!

Ronin 03-07-2005 04:15 AM

I got bored after doing work for awhile and went to RFC. I never did it when I was the appropriate level.

Finished the entire instance in 5 minutes. Literally. I kill everything with one hit but it was funny. :lol Got some low level greens to give away for our low level enchanters to use.

Just curious on how everyones adventure is on WoW?
Well a few nights ago our guild on our server got through to Magmadar in Molten Core. A VERY hard 63 elite.

I realized that this game is nothing until you reach the end-game contents. Raids through Scholo, UBRS and such are not really raids, but more of 2-4 5man parties trying to kill one target fast.

In molten core, it is more precise. All 40 members must work together and it will take 2-5 tries ont he same mob just to organize a strategy.

Our guild spends every momment in raids. We try to do M.C. and Onyixa's Liar alot, buts at times, we do not have the 6 hours it takes per day just to finish one section.

This being my first MMORPG is a great game. Most of the guys on our server are from EQ which I have never played. One of EQ's biggest guilds chose our server; Cenarius, which makes the pricing much higher at our AH.

Even Thottbot (User: Thott) is on our server!

Oh well. Have fun all! And please, tell me how far you guys have gotten and such!http://img174.exs.cx/img174/9566/wow...50201284te.jpg

Ch28 03-09-2005 10:03 PM

Both of you posted up awesome pics.

Nothing like a little lag haha.

Ronin 03-09-2005 10:15 PM

Magmadar shouldn't really be considered a 63 elite. A 63 elite that's not in MC (none that I know of but still) doesn't require 40 lvl 60s to beat it.

They're on the "Raid Boss" scale of difficulty.

I'm almost 58...can't wait to get to 60. Too bad our guild is too small to do raid instances with just insiders.

As for how far I've gotten...the craziest boss I've beaten so far is Eranikus. Princess was easy...everything else in Sunken Temple was easy...Eranikus was kinda hard but at 57, even then I've only wiped there once. The Divinomatic quest was hard as hell too...I've only completed it twice.

I've done most of BRD...nothing particularly hard in there. Can't wait for BRS, Scholo, Strath...

How do you guys split up the loot? If 40 people go, I'm assuming at least 30 of them walk out empty handed except for expensive vendor junk.

BTW: have you checked out the PVP Honor System, HKS? I've found my new purpose in life. The Shaman set is BADASS looking.

RFlush 03-09-2005 10:41 PM

We use a DKP system in our guild. So each raid you attend, you gain 1 point. Those points are added to an auction type. So lets say an epic item drops, people can bid with their DKP. We are usually well organize with our raid loots because most of us who attend, are within the guild.

As for Magmadar, unfortunately, Blizz has made ALL mobs lvl 63 elite max. It all just depends on their armor and skills that makes each mob harder or not.

Onyixa is damn hard, and only a few guilds on different servers have been able to accomplish him. Taking note it is a 20 hour spawn time for him.

Ronin, a lvl 57 should be ok to handle Strathlahome scarlet and baron side. But I would not suggest Scholomance at the momment, most groups would want a higher level warrior for a tank and not aggro too many mobs.

Or are you a Shaman? If Shaman, lvl 57 should be ok beacuse healers are always needed for raids.

How many people do you guys got in your guild?

When you reach lvl 60, it's good to say "I got to 60" but there is really no major perks. Just able to train to the max, and upgrades that's about it. Epic mount, which is good. Otherwise, it really sucks seeing quest reward XP of 10,800xp go to waste =/

*Edit: I think I might create a horde character. Would you guys mind if I join your server and guild as my backup horde toon? Or will I be too low of a level?

Ronin 03-09-2005 11:02 PM

I'd say our guild has about 10 people but around 30 characters. :) And of those 10...we have four who are 50+ (including me) that play on a regular basis (read: everyfreakinday.)

And no, we always welcome new players. In fact, some of our guys are starting up new characters. I probably won't myself since I want to be as badass as possible...

I'm a Shaman but I'm a shitty, shitty healer. I regularly group with a priest I met in the game and he outheals me like crazy. I'm a agil spec shaman, meaning I wear hunter gear. :) I don't see all that many of us on our server but on a regular basis, I can damage harder than a warrior (maybe not a rogue) because I crit at 23% (although CTmod stats tell me it's closer to 30%) and when Windfury hits, that's 1000-1500 damage in an instant at my level with my Tooth of Eranikus.

Mainly, I've built this character to solo but I will probably respec at 60 and go for the new Earthshaker set and be a normal shaman. For soloing, this spec is awesome. At 55, I took on three 57-59 chimeras in Winterspring and made it out alive. Granted I did have to Nature's Swiftness myself, heal, and despell myself a lot but I kicked those fucker's asses. :D

....but at 60, I'm guessing I'll do a LOT less soloing and a lot more group work or PVP.

I can't wait for this honor system. I'll raid IF every night to get that set...

RFlush 03-09-2005 11:07 PM

Wow, I assumed your guild would be bigger. I was reading some of the threads on Killrog server forum and it does seem like a much smaller community, which is something I would enjoy.

But you are right, just build a crazy ass character. Because in most MMORPGs, things will only get bigger and better. So you want to be the top of your class with the best gear when the next best thing comes.

Shamans are crazy ass hard for me to beat. Me being a hunter. Your totems are just too overpowered, and with heals, you guys are tougher than pallys! Oh well, got to get practicing I guess.

The reason why I want to start a new character is because our server is constintly down :( so it would be nice to play while the down time.

Btw, has anyone on your server killed Onyxia yet? Or ventured into MC?

Ronin 03-09-2005 11:10 PM

BTW: our guild has six guys that are 50+.

60 warrior
59 warlock
58 hunter
57 shaman
53 rogue
53 hunter

Those are the highest level guys. I haven't seen MajorBludd in a long time...but we have a warrior, shaman and mage in their 40s. At the lower end...W2K and Ch28 from here are level 30 and 22, respectively. Other than that...we have a bunch of secondary characters that are below 20.

Ulic plays on our server...I think he's in the high 40s.

At this point, I'm trying to find cool people nearing 60 so when we're ready for Onyxia or MC, at least I know we have people to play with even if they're not in our guild so that the five or six of us that are nearing the cap can get invited to their guild raids. So far, I've found maybe 10 or so people that I would play with and am confident that looting won't suck nuts.

I had a fucking rogue steal my mail boots the other day. Fucker. I'm still mad...

Ronin 03-09-2005 11:16 PM

Yes, there are two or three VERY large guilds with a high number of 60s that have killed Onyxia and Magmadar. That other dude in MC...Ragnarok...I don't think anyone in the world has killed him yet.

Sorry but I think hunters are the worst PVP class, especially against me. I haven't met a single hunter that I haven't beaten in a duel. Druids too...although druids are getting twinked in the next patch to be less crappy. I beat up a 60 druid when I was level 55. Hunters, IMO are awesome for soloing since it's like being in a party all the time...but for PVP, all I have to do is ignore the pet (which doesn't work on warlocks I found out last night...because those damned imps do so much damage) and attack you. Frost shock makes sure you can't run away from me even if you daze me with concussion or that frozen floor thingie.

In fact, with my spec of shaman, I can't say there is one class that I really have all that much trouble with fighting except rogues. Rogues just daze me and then crit me like crazy. I can fight our 60 warrior and get him down to about 15% before he pulls execute or overpower on me.

Total coincidence but I found a couple more RS guys on Kilrogg today by accident so I definetely wouldn't mind seeing some more on our server. In fact, working at London Drugs, I always hold some copies for RS members, trying to get more people to play the game. It's way more fun when you have a lot of people you know in the game. That's why I try and meet as many people as possible.

RFlush 03-09-2005 11:19 PM

Just to let you know, MC and Onyxia should not be a pick-up raid. It will cause GREAT havoc within the loot system. To truly enjoy the game, you must need a high-end raiding guild, so that each user will come back the next day to spend a good 6 hours passing the next step.

Also because of the fact that raids in MC save themselves. So you can initial come back into the instance and have what you cleared yesterday, still be cleared.

It really sucks that we can't switch servers. I would love to come over to a lower pop server just for a bit to PvP you guys.

Oh also, you will need a group of 40 lvl 60s that ALL know how to play their class well and can group with each other. Our first few tries we failed horribly. But after getting more epic drops for each time we venture in, our gear has MUCHED improved and able to handle what we have just accomplished.

Ronin 03-10-2005 12:13 AM

We're a PvE server, BTW...and in the future, you WILL be able to do a one time server move.

J__ 03-10-2005 03:16 PM

Ronin 03-10-2005 04:08 PM

No one will bid on that...and whoever put it up probably lost 500g in deposit.

SkinnyPupp 03-10-2005 04:32 PM

deposit is based on vendor value, not minimum bid value or buyout

It's probably a typo

I don't think Blizzard will implement the server change due to the fact of all the repeatitive names. I mean, I have the same character name on my 4 different realms I am on. Imagine if I put them all on one realm, then what will happen?

J___ I can't believe you can play WoW in windows format. I hate it! I only use it when I am in instances with a crappy group and just for loot. I set my character on autofollow, then play some online poker, browse the forums and every so often check my screen to see if I am either dead, near a boss, or there is a roll screen with a great item infront of me =)

some interesting stuff i found posted in the Kilrogg forum with regards to the downtime.

Q u o t e:
In order to apply a more permanent fix, the affected realms must be moved to new hardware. We have begun performing maintenance on 10 realms, and we will bring down another 10 realms later this evening. A list of affected realms is posted below. During this hardware upgrade, these realms will be unavailable to players. This extended downtime is necessary in order to fix the stability and performance issues that have hampered these realms in the past. Players with characters on these realms will receive a 5-day time extension for the downtime incurred during this maintenance. Also, we realize that some players may have been disconnected outside of a major city or inn. Therefore all characters on these realms will receive a full rest-state bonus.

The downtime is expected to last approximately 24 hours. We’ll do our best to provide you with constant updates throughout the maintenance period. We thank you again for your patience during this time.
