Your eyesight will likely be acceptable for all the above stated trades that you are interested in.

^^ You will be paid for both Basic and SQ, approximately $80/day plus approximately $15/day in the field or at a location away from home ( ie not downtown Vancouver, but for example, Edmonton...)

Its been almost a month since I had my interview/aptitude/fitness test and I havent heard back from them yet... is this any indication that I didn't get in?

I recall them saying that I should hear back from them in 2-3 weeks and they would inform me of whether or not I got in.

Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

Do not panic.

My timeline from the day I dropped off my paper work to the day I took my oath for getting in ( with my apt/phys/ment test somewhere in between) was SIX months.

It does not hurt to call the unit that you applied at and just ask nicely for an update. There has been instances where paperwork got lost.

yeah, they're lazy and they're slow. and they're lazy. you have to be proactive, keep calling them and harrassing them. that's what i did. when i joined it took almost 1 year.

people complained, and i heard the process is A LOT faster now. like 1-3 months tops. but yeah, call em. harrass em. err harrass politely though heh.

it's actually good if you call them... they will record that you called... and it's good if it shows that you care, and not just go to the interview and forget about it...

just don't be like calling them every week.

you just have to be prepared for anything. the older bases have communal prison style showers, which is pretty gay, and the newer more modern bases have your own individual stalls.

the rule is, no one looks down hah. eyes above the horizon. you'll be fine but seriously, there's nothing to worry about. i only shower when they order me to shower, or when i have time. i dont like those quick ass shit shave n' shower in 30 seconds type routines, i feel more dirty than before. so i usually shower after we get dismissed, right before bed time, that way you can actually CLEAN yourself. hah. but that's just me.

you know what they say, Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

but whatever man, you'll have otherthings to worry about other than dicks and butts. like the idiot fireteam partner you got teamed up with, constantly getting you into trouble hah.

it depends, each year is different.

for example... your basic training might be local here... or it could be in wainwright... or shilo.. it could be anywhere across canada. that goes for all your training. also remember they run more than one serial at a time. so there are many of the "same" course running at the same time across canada.

but if you mean for vancouver, where the artillary base is.. there is one in aldergrove. and there is on on.. i think its 12th and arbutus.. or 13th and arbutus.

I've gotten a fever/flu in the field during a weekend ex; they shipped me out and got me home.

Not sure what would happen on course, if it was bad you would get shipped out and probably fail the course. If it wasen't bad you would prob want to stick it out.

yeah, what hogdogz said.
if its just an exersize for training purposes. you'll get sent home.

it really depends. if its just a cough or some dumb thing. nothing serious. then you'll probably just have to suck it up. if its fairly bad but whatever. you'll probably just sleep it out and rest. or be sent home.

if you're on course.. ie. basic training. you'll suck it up, or you'll be sent home and you redo the whole course on a later date. aka. you fail.

of course sometimes you have no choice, if its say, a really bad flu, they'll probably make you go home regardless of how badly you want to stay. they don't want others getting sick, and they dont want you dying, you're a liability.

if its something little. just suck it up. because while you're being checked up by the medics or whatever, your buddies have to haul your gear, and all your shit. and worse. basically everyone will suffer for your weakness. suck it up and carry on, or quit. no one likes hauling someone else's ass for them. it's not boyscouts.
