Make sure you hit up the night scene...Montreal has the best nightlife in Canada hands down!!

Crescent St. is for tourists.

Check out St. Laurent for some of the posh places.

Best time to visit Montreal?

my goal next year is to visit montreal...i have been holding off for long enough...when is the best time in the year to visit montreal?

bcrdukes 05-15-2006 09:55 AM

Probably anywhere around this time. My friend lives in Toronto and goes to Montreal every May long weekend. That's when the city goes crazy on partying at all the clubs and I'm sure the weather there is nice. Not to mention, you get to see the nice flowers and scenery in Old Montreal.

I went in March with GFunk. Have a look at some of the pics and check out some other threads regarding Montreal here and here. Have fun! :)

definately the summer. the city is so alive, there's always some sort of street festival.

great times to go are during the jazz festival and just for laughs.

dg.pryde 06-25-2006 03:07 PM

st. catherines street downtown is fun. olympic stadium. the metro. la ronde amusement park. old montreal. the big shopping mall downtown.

Mrtemp 06-25-2006 03:34 PM

Good thread! I'm in Ottawa right now, so Montreal is only an hour and a half away. Depends really what you want to do...

Sightseeing: Vielle Montreal (old montreal) and Vieux Port (old port), Chinatown (small tho), Mt. Royal

Shopping: Cresent, St Laurent, tons of malls in that area too

Nightlife: havent been here long enough :( But i wanna check out the strip clubs :p

i loved Montreal!!! If i were to move away from Vancouver, Montreal would be the place. Their subway system is 100000000000x more efficient and there is just so much culture! i loved it!

Sky_2000 07-11-2006 12:17 PM

i'm currently in montreal and i must admit it sucks here. The streets seem so dirty, the drivers are worst then the drivers in richmond by x10000. And the people here are super rude! I went to Ruben's and it sucked there. The only decent places i've been to eat was Schwartz but the waiters and servers were hella rude. The view from Mont Royal isn't that great...the view from north vancouver is better and it's also less crowded then mont royal.

Sky_2000 07-13-2006 02:49 PM

Well don't leave Vancouver then cause pretty much the rest of the world is like that or worse.

87supra 07-14-2006 10:29 PM

Circus afterhours isnt gay. supposed to be tons of hot girls there

blueSiR 07-16-2006 11:39 PM

Well, I'm making my way to Montreal soon. Are there any specific shopping places I should go to? ie. where the locals go to dress chic...
I am also looking into anything that has to do with a young college crowd... concordia night life???
As well, I can't forget about the ladies, where do they all go and where are they the most friendly (I don't want to meet uber chic bitches - female dogs - that think they're the hottest things that graced this planet)
Are there any restaurants I should check out? Any hostels or hotels where its more student oriented?
