For those people in pharmacy, isn't there a difference between a pharmacist and a pharmacy tech? |
yep Pharmacist = UBC Education (4 years + 1 year of undergrad) -Responsibility and liability rest on their shoulders -Responsible for final check of prescriptions before they're given to anyone -Deals with drug related problems and assesses appropriate drug use in collaboration with other health care professionals... Can make recommendations and give advice to people Pharmacy Technician = couple months program at a college, or no training sometimes -Does technical functions within a pharmacy (i.e. counting) -Cannot make recommendations or give advice -Cannot take verbal prescriptions and discuss drug therapy with doctors |
So, I'm sure most of you guys working in healthcare in BC got that Email from your health authority CEO regarding consolidiation. Any news? I just transfered from the clinical lab to lab information systems. I might switch back to clinical if things start to look bad. |
