Here's an interesting little piece of information regarding cll, an un-named pipeline company (not the company i work for...) has pre-bid meeting this week for a pipeline being built from (you guessed it...) connachers great divide property to another companys site (with an upgrader). The meeting itself is with a third party engineering contractor so I honestly can't say who is going to be paying for or operating this pipeline, but bid drawings and documents will likely contain said information. I should know more in a day or two.

Even if it connacher paying for the pipeline it makes tons of sense, trucking the bitumen is waaaayyyy too expensive.

That explains the huge jump in CLL shares today! Apparently word got out to some traders.

jasonturbo 01-03-2012 09:18 PM

I don't know if thats really important enough news to spur todays jump, i am willing to bet there is other rumors/stories goimg around stilln driven by buyout/jv.

Really they should have built a pipeline a long time ago, they have probably spent the cost to build the pipeline multiple times in trucking already. Either way, hopefully tmw is another interesting day for cll, and i am curious to see what the termination point is for this pipeline, and details related to volume of oil to flow in this pipeline.

Ps: expect su's next financial report to stir up some major buying, good deal at this price.

Aos... Pipe dream lol

News from CLL... (The news is a general update, no crazy news about JV or Buyout if you want to save yourself from reading it.)

The Stock Market, Canadian Stock Exchange | TMX Group

Spoiler!

an update on transportation... Connacher intends to continue to market production, in increasing volumes, utilizing transportation by truck, rail and pipeline
... this quote is from the release.. and there you have it folks lol.

Wonder if this will fuel the fire or not... I wonder how many people are sitting on the stock and praying for a buyout vs. people who have taken a long position... personally I would be happy to see it tank back to .35 so I could buy more lol.. but I don't think that's going to happen with the current price of oil. LOL LOOKS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE HOPING FOR A QUICK BUCK.. SET TO OPEN LOWER LOL.

Edit: Further to my previous post regarding the pipeline origin and termination, the pipeline originates at a small gathering system on the Great Divide property and terminates at Enbridges Cheecham Terminal, based on this it would be logical to assume that the oil being transported will be diluted bitumen, the line in question is NPS 12. The Gathering system is not fully constructed at this time and the engineering is also not complete for the mainline, between design and regulatory approval they do not expect to be moving ahead with this pipeline until fall/winter 2013.

Edit #2: On a side note, should have friggin sold out at .88 yesterday lol... &#$%!!! Traders remorse.

Sky_High 01-04-2012 05:38 AM

^ and it drops 18% right down to $0.73

.68 :fuckthatshit:

Was so close to hitting the sell button yesterday...

TouringTeg 01-04-2012 07:47 AM

Cll back up to .75 at the moment lol

Up 18% then down 18%. What a roller coaster.

I bought SU @ 29.13 and it has been steadily climbing as tension in Iran drives up oil prices.

Yeah it's like yesterday never happened! lol :(

12.6 Million Shares traded today, just unreal what this stock endures on a regular basis lol... it's like the red-headed step child of the Canadian Oil Sands.

you fail to mention the small tidbit that half their senior management team left - cfo, coo and vp bus dev. CFO is useless but COO and bus dev leaving is a cause for going concern. You rarely see turnover at the C-suite so you might want to pull their trading records off SEDI to see their trade history on company stock.

The trouble is that without knowing the exact circumstances that lead to their departure, it is impossible to know how to interpret this information.

They have 10 days to file with SEDI, depending on when they made their departure this information may not yet be available.

When and if the story comes out, it would be interesting to know what lead to the shuffle...

Edit: Just checked SEDI, issuer No. for Connacher is 00005988, it is impossible to link to search results so one would need to do their own search here for results: https://www.sedi.ca/sedi/SVTReportsA...0&locale=en_CA

Nothing of any real significance in the summary reports IMO.

Edit#2: Connacher CEO will be on BNN in 10 minutes to discuss executive shuffle.... interested to hear what he "doesn't" say lol.

I should mention, I did purchase more CLL today at .78, and am considering selling my 10k worth of AOS to purchase additional CLL shares tomorrow... My current avg. share price on CLL is .5307.

See how I feel in the AM...

Other than my obsession with CLL and other Canadian Oil Sands companies... what does everyone else have going on?

Any opinions on V.SLI? I'm a long time basher of this stock lol. Can't believe it's trading at 2$ still...

highfive 01-05-2012 11:38 AM

Finally out of my BAC position.

Can't believe how well financials are doing so far in the new year.

shawnly1000 01-05-2012 11:54 AM

Knew I should've bought some WTW :(

jasonturbo 01-05-2012 12:02 PM

Sold my AOS today @ .18 and it closed at .22 lol. (Bought in at .165)

Having said that I also bought more CLL at .74 and it closed at .86 (My new avg. share price on CLL is .5628)

So all and all.. it was a good day.. quite the rally on CLL in the last hour

Crazy day for WTW... must be a lot of fat people trying to get in shape for the summer.

TouringTeg 01-05-2012 12:06 PM

Sold my SU.TO shares and bought another 1200 shares of CLL @ .78. My average is .91 I see it closed up 10.26% @ .86

jasonturbo 01-05-2012 12:11 PM

I really think SU is going to be back in the 35-40+ range in the very near future... sometimes I wish CLL would be taken out so I could pull my money and diversify a bit more, but at the same time I really do think CLL as a long term hold of 6-18 months will provide for a great return... provided oil prices stay above 90/barrel.

If SU would crank up the dividends a bit I think the share price would climb very fast to a new high (since the split)

Good job! wish I would have waited longer.. hopefully POT makes the same come back within the next couple months.

Jermyzy 01-05-2012 08:59 PM

^Pretty please...

bbbj 01-05-2012 09:55 PM

I'm really wanting to get rid of POT once it gets back to $44.5 so I won't take a loss..

My US portfolio actually broke even in the New Year! :fuckyea:

And yes, werd to the stupid Europeans.. I love how Germany is trying to pressure Merkel to inject more cash/liquidity to the market (i.e. print more $$$)
