Yes TVIX 52 week range was the main reason to buy for me, it's not like the Eurozone is any better off than it was last summer/fall.. so I'm expecting a decent return on this :D Let's hope so cause I have 60k tied up in it lol...

You're not worried about what workaround that may transpire in the G8 meeting this weekend ?

Keep in mind that FAZ resets (i.e. R/S) every so often because of its inherent decay factor. So the 5 year high has that factored in.

TVIX is leveraged on the VIX so definitely gonna have a wide price range.

Grrrrr hate how gas has been like ~$1.45/L in the GVRD lately only to see that crude is at $91.48

It likely would have dropped below IPO price if the Underwriters did not step in and buy... The question is how much below would it have went before it found support? Also interesting that the volume exceeded the amount of shares issued in the IPO... Looks like everybody wants to trade it, but nobody wants to hold it lol.

I think my new investment strategy is going to be simply this:

Good news: Buy XIV on the way up, Sell TVIX immediately

Bad news: Buy TVIX on the way up, Sell XIV immediately

It's unreal to me how one sentence from any given politician can sway the markets one way or the other...

TouringTeg 05-21-2012 12:50 PM

Markets did well today. Hopefully tsx follows suit tomorrow. Tvix down 19%. Will wait until the next euro mess hits the news before buying.

if you take a look at ES M2 or.. SP500 DAILY chart, it looks like a bull trap right now. i'd say it would retest the ~1333.00 level.

leilomo 05-22-2012 01:09 AM

Fuck japan downgraded

jasonturbo 05-22-2012 06:32 AM

I think I am in love with TVIX and XIV.. wish I knew about these funds a long time ago lol...

So experts, when is the shit gonna hit the fan again?

BTW, do any of you regular posters have a formal education in investing/finance/commerce?

Hehe 05-22-2012 06:45 AM

And the FB selloff continues...

I think when the dust settles, it would be around 18~20, giving a valuation of 50B or so given its revenue+some hype that remain in retail investors.

I just wish the options are coming up soon enough.

jasonturbo 05-22-2012 11:31 AM

All you smart folks, bullish or bearish tomorrow?

TouringTeg 05-22-2012 11:52 AM

Greek banks rumored to get around 18 billion Euros which makes me lean towards bullish... but who knows.

Saw TVIX start to swing around noon and bought in at 8.63 Sold at 9.41
