Picked this one up earlier today after the news.

wreck 01-11-2021 04:30 PM

Very tempting.

Although the deal isn't confirmed, Andrew Liveris, Chairman of the Lucid BoD is also an operating partner of CCIV.

Wonder what it will open at tomorrow am?

On the topic of SPACs and car manufactures, I think NGA is worth a peak. Lion Electric going public with NGA. Canadian based company specializing in EV school buses and class 7-8 delivery vehicles. Amazon is already committed to purchasing some of their vehicles.

With the new US administration, I would think there will be a large push to electrify fleet vehicles to meet green targets.

blkgsr 01-12-2021 12:38 PM

do you think it's current price is still a good entry point?

maybe come back down after the news wears off?

I think the hype train will be around for a couple more weeks. They are getting a lot of media attention and again, lots of people are pumping money into this company when they see Amazon is a key customer.

Anyone get in on GME?

Short squeeze has started...

wreck 01-13-2021 12:23 PM

pulled the trigger premarket this morning on CCIV at 15.

feel like the upside is worth the risk, especially after watching the conference yesterday.

SpeedStars 01-13-2021 03:17 PM

Does anyone here have experience trading foreign securities? In the process of opening up an international securities trading acc with questrade and was wondering if there's any headaches that go with it. Planning on going into EV battery suppliers

Bought some CRSR, hoping Logitech's earnings next week will push it, then Corsair's earnings first week of Feb

whitev70r 01-15-2021 08:26 AM

Woe ... BB shot up like 25% today because of some sort of settlement with FB.

ButterFingers 01-15-2021 04:20 PM

Noobie here but I feel these economy reopening/post pandemic type stocks the Air Canada's, Carnival Cruises, American Airlines etc are a decent and safe buy but it's definitely long game so if patience is not your thing then forget about it. Just my 2 noobie cents though, don't listen to me lol i'm literally 3 months into trading.

sonick 01-16-2021 12:33 PM

My hobbyist-level investment knowledge justification for AC is that they are Canada's only true international airline, there is no way, even in dire straits, that the government of Canada would let them fail because of COVID. Too many jobs, and too few alternatives or competitors nowadays.

They have also been able to steer themselves out of bankruptcy in the past without government support.

68style 01-16-2021 09:25 PM

It's really tough to stay away from AC... they jerked me around SO bad a couple times I swore I'd never fly with them again out of principle and even paid like 2 bills more for flights to avoid them a couple times (HK and Japan respectively)... but there's quite a few things they do there's no viable alternative.

Personally I don’t think it will make a huge difference. Probably just a small bump on the road.

whitev70r 01-18-2021 08:39 AM

Which company will the killing of Keystone Pipeline hurt the most? Keystone is TC Energy Corp, right?

Will this make other pipeline company's value go up?
