Pasparos on west 3rd street (west of lonsdale) in North Van is very very good.......roast lamb, calamari and all traditional foods to die for! You definitely have to love garlic to eat here.

Its just ok

Stefo's is really good on Davie- cheap and large portions

I always use my entertainment book and go to greek resturants
buy one meal and the next meal is up to 13 bucks off

is stephos that place where the line up is like always really long? never ate there before but it must be really good to be always full like that

how much is it? like 15 bucks a plate?

I should open a traditional greek resteraunt. Serving a side of rice and pita bread isn't greek food.

Personally I'd like to see some stefado, some seaside food like crab, pan fried calamari, pastitso, faki, and other greek dishes. Sadly this wouldn't pass off here I guess just because everyone expects alot of low quality food for cheap.

One dish I really like to see is auya me domates, essentially eggs with tomotoes, where the eggs are fried in oil then tomato sauce is added and eaten with feta cheese.

Damn that sounds http://smiliesftw.com/x/yumyum.gif

Are there any places that serve that here?

I tried the Stephos and felt like a real idiot after eating the food and realized i waited 45 minutes in line for this??? I'm not saying the food is bad, but it's pretty regular.

Really Stepho's was not worth it due to the need to line up.

I frequent Mad Greek and quite happy with it. I also tried the place at Steveston in Richmond next to the fish and chip place a few days ago and was quite impressed. Portions are adequate and price is very reasonable. It's cheaper then mad Greek.

However, Mad Greek did rais there prices not too long ago.

I hear that Taki's that's near Stephos is good with less of a line-up. Have yet to try but hope to soon.

on a side note, stay away from santorinis on north road. so not good!

If santorinis is the one on north road and lougheed, I remember getting snubbed there at least 5yrs ago lol. GF and I was literally standing there for 5-10mins with no service. The employees saw us and just kept on walking; they weren't even busy. Perhaps they had something against asians; racist maybe?

Re: Are Greek Food expensive?

my favorite Greek restaurant is Stepho's on Davie Street, all dishes around $10, have to try the lamb if you are a lamb lover..

place is very busy, almost constant line up in front, i would recommend to go with a few friends since they only take resversation for 5 or more ..

anyone tried Felicos? How are they?

stepho's cheap, good food too! downside is that you gotta call in first otherwise you're lining up

My Greek by Lougheed and Brunette

the roast lamb never disappoints

stepho, all its got is the portion kinda like antons

Inaii 01-11-2010 01:13 PM

+1 for Kalypso :) Mind you I'm biased, the owners are close family friends and my Grandfather used to be a part owner. Good food nonetheless, although if you're going to get lamb, get the roasted stuff, not the souvlaki.
