oh coolant where ar't thou

i dunno if i did that little shakespeare thing right, but anyways haha. basically i changed my upper rad hose, and changed the coolant.. burped the system (with front end very high in the air via hoist.) did a leak down test and went well. now.. i fired up my car the next morning. my bird flew the koop.. got freaked out and filled overflow.. drove it. felt fine. let it sit for a coupel hours, light came on on start up but went away quickly.... went home and parked it for teh night. came back out in the morning. bird flew the koop again and once again overflowwas bone dry... now there was nothing on the ground.. no white smoke blowing. no milky on the oil cap.. WHAT THE HELL! i cant think of where the hell the coolant is going? im running about 70% water and 30% glycol...

Enraged 05-30-2006 04:01 PM

that is weird. with that mix, do you think it would have evaporated by the morning? could could try putting some paper towels down to be sure.

i stopped at malahat today, picked up two almost new 3.5" speakers for the front of the celica for $10, cant remember the brand but they are decent.

ryan, they have a crossmember thats on the ground already with the diff mount, he said i could have it for $95, and i didnt ask about the complete rear subframe. i also read that the supra rear section of the driveshaft is different than the celica driveshaft, so that may be causing the driveshaft sound. if you think we can just weld the diff mount in, i can pick it up this week, and ill try to get the rear section of the driveshaft cheap as well.

arturiusma7 05-30-2006 04:31 PM

yea tahts almost what im wondering... what also scares me is taht my exhaust seems to be spitting water at warm up.. quite a bit more then usual.... which makes me think its not enough to push white... oh well i just went and added about 1L of straight coolant.. so hopefully itll help me out..

arturiusma7 05-30-2006 05:00 PM

gawd dammit.. i just took it for a drive... coolant is rushing out of my overflow... now hopefully its because i like filled the overflow about 3/4 full... but i doubt it.. i think pre signs of BHG are upon me...

Enraged 05-30-2006 05:52 PM

or you have an air bubble trapped somewhere

arturiusma7 05-30-2006 06:34 PM

i dunno.. temp stays the same the whole time.. i had the front end up on a hoist basically as high as i could get it.... and i had the cap off for a good 25 mins.. heater full.. maybe ill try and hook it up to a presurized(sp?) coolant system.. itll hopefully suck it out...

NashMan 05-30-2006 07:26 PM

well coolent only goes 3 places burn or leak or pushed out
