The building is on Columbia St, between Athletes Way & Walter Hardwick Ave on the western end of Olympic Village.

I've always wanted to shoot that building with Canon's 17mm TS-E, or like Mr. G said, with a telephoto from the bridge - maybe with a medium format camera.

any tips on how best to take pics of fireworks? mine never seem to pan out :/

First off, use a tripod. Fireworks require long exposure. Choose a relatively high aperture setting and start with a shutter speed of 1 to 4 seconds. From there, it's simply a matter of experimenting with different shutter speeds.
